About Me: My Name is Kevin. I am 26 and work mostly in the IT industry. I enjoy philosophy which is one thing that draws me to Martial Arts. I enjoy studying the history as well as the philosophy behind the different styles. To me, martial arts is not just a way of self defense, but also a gateway to self knowledge. It teaches restraint, control, focus, conditioning (mental and physical), and respect. These are attributes that can help you learn more about your own mental and physical abilities and boundaries. In time this also can help you develop a better understanding and respect for many more things in the world around you.

Experience: Learned a little Chinese Boxing from my father as a child. He studied under James Cravens in college. (I listed Kung Fu since Chinese Boxing (Gung Fu) is not listed in the system.) I have been studying Aikido from demos on the internet and also through books I have found. I have recently started learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from my Uncle who is a member of this site and is a Nidan in Okinawan Te Jiu Jitsu. He also sparred with my father while my father was studying under James cravens which is where he got his first taste for martial arts.
