Introduction to Tiger Claw Kung Fu
Tiger Claw Kung Fu is a kind of combat based on techniques influenced by the different movements of a tiger. The actual origin of Tiger Claw Kung Fu is unknown. However, it is said that about hundred years ago there was a duel fighting competition between two well known instructors of Kung Fu in a temple called Hoy Hong Temple. Before they could start the fight, an old monk threw them out of the temple. They were so much surprised by this incident that they decided to forget their personal disputes and both of them wanted to learn the art forms from the monk who had easily overpowered them. Thus one of them, Wong Bil Hong learnt the black tiger system of martial arts and eventually this form was brought to New York.
Tiger was believed to be the king of all animals by the Chinese people. As this art form is inspired by this deadly animal’s several moves so this style mostly use the external and forceful approaches during attacks. Tiger is basically known for its powerful movements and direct attacks. It does not need to defend itself, it is already a winner. Thus, Tiger Claw Kung Fu involves techniques, which are very powerful as well as simple. The main strategy is to make sudden attacks with the involvement of lots of energy and concentration. The basic training includes the strengthening of the physical built up of the body and to realizing the actual spirit of this art through proper practice and guidance by the experts.
