Introduction to Krav Maga
The martial arts style of Krav Maga is a system developed by Imi Lichtenfeld in the regions of Slovakia, Hungary and Israel for close combat. It is primarily a self defense style aimed at disarming or overpowering an attacker in the fastest and safest method possible. This includes attackers with weapons, knifes and other objects. The style is an excellent system for defending against suprise attacks and has since been used in military training for non-special forces units as well as Israeli police force training. In an every day (non-military) sense, this style is excellent for defending against muggings, attacks and other assaults.
Krav Maga is a relatively modern style and it is regarded to be a practical martial art rather than a classical style. It is not known to be difficult to learn and has less flexibility requirements than other martial arts.
