Introduction to Eskrima
The martial arts sytle of Eskrima concentrates its training initially on stick and sword fighting being predominantly based on weapons fighting. However, in later training and development of this style 'empy hand' techniques are taught. Eskrima originates from Phillipines although the term Eskrima is thought to have originated from a Spanish word 'esgrima' - which is a style of fencing.
Escrima is known alternatively as Kali, Escrima and Arnis de Mano. More recently it has commonly been referred to as FMA (Filipino Martial Arts).
