The title of Father of Boxing is considered by many to be Jack Broughton (pictured). He is supposed to be the first person who developed the layout of the present format of a boxing match in the early 1700s. John Soulto Douglas, popularly known as the Patron Saint of Boxing is the person who formatted the currently applied rules of Boxing.

Until the end of 18th century Boxing did not become much popular as a sport, however, it was in the year 1904 when the game was included in St. Louis Olympic Games. This marked to be starting of the era when Boxing got its due recognition as a sport. The organization of National Boxing Association (NBA) was formed in 1927 and this is when Boxing received its organizational behavior. It became the organization that arranges boxing matches and ranked the fighters involved according to their performance. However, today there are 3 organizations namely, World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Association (WBA) and IBF whose titlists have worldwide recognition as “Champions”.

Boxing legewnd Mike TysonSince its many years of inception, Boxing has recorded many popular names under its arena. The most however is Mike Tyson, a heavyweight champion of his time. Mike Tyson remains to be the youngest person in the history of Boxing to acquire the title of the entire major titles i.e. WBA, IBF and WBC. Since his debut in the year of 1985, among 28 titles, Tyson won 26 titles. Later in his career, Tyson faced a lot of controversy in his career. However, he made a major comeback and was even listed the best heavyweight champion of all times. This honor to Tyson was given by ring Magazine in the year 1998. This survey was proved valid when he was listed as the 4th best player and 7th best player of all times.

Tyson retired after a successful yet controversial career in the year 2005. These years since his debut in the world of boxing had seen many faces of Tyson. His successful grin to his unsuccessful posture, boxing arena had witnessed them all.

Now days, there has been an advent of a new fighter who is considered to be the best. The person being talked here is Japanese Bantamweight star, Hozumi Hasegawa. He is the best fighter rated now days. He currently rules the bantamweight division. His record has been quiet impressive in eight years he has not lost even a single fight. He has successfully overcome all the gruesome fighters and has always emerged as the best. Hozumi has an excellent co-ordination of power and speed that he uses to tackle down his all opponents. Although he is not a fighter that fights for money, and due to this sole reason he is not known so widely. Yet all his talents need the accolades and appraisals.

As Boxing arena has seen all the champions that have come and gone and always made their presence felt, they have even impressed their fans with their distinct fighting styles. There are others as well who deserves a mention. Among these popular players is Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao. He has also been rated by the Ring Magazine to be the beholder of titles for Light Welterweight, featherweight and Super Featherweight. Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao (pictured) has brought down all the laurels to Asia; this is because he remains to be the first Filipino boxer to bag 5 world titles in a row.

Overall, all the legends mentioned deserves all the praises, this is because they have made their presence felt in the arena, whether it was a debut match or a comeback match of these players, they have never let their fans down. Boxing is a game that is modern form of martial art and includes high co-ordination among limbs applied with proper power. All these players are a paradigm for all those beginners as well as for the people who aspire to become like them. It is just the hard work, dedication combined with passion that have made the person they are. And it definitely requires full commitment to at least reach to a level equal to as achieved by these boxers.
