    A good clip.
His movements make me think of monkey-boxing - is this so?

Shi dejian is a master of Shaolin Xinyiba and there is a monkey set/form within this and there is indeed a look of monkey boxing in this video. Interestingly it is actually longer and in the begining of it he comments on the lack of intent in the eyes of the UK martial artist in the video. Often these days shaolin is dismissed and dis-respected somewhat due to the "wushu" schools that have grown around it, but if you meet one of the traditional warrior monks [shi dejian is a full monk] then this somewhat tarnished view is quickly changed and just watching them move is close to martial art porn....lol.

This particular monk is very traditional and is held in very high esteem, his style is internal and similiar in outlook to tai chi

Ah, thanks - that's good to know

Intention is indeed key - and something that many martial artists are lacking these days. To some degree, the social aspect of training has overtaken the actual purpose of the art.

Great video the one above. I recognise nearly all the applications from my own art, I guess there is only so many ways you can use the body its probably the way you apply that differs.
    1) Snake Creeps Down
    2) ?
    3)Elephant Shakes It's Head
    4) Parry and Punch
    5) Beginning style followed by Double Seize Legs
    6) Single Sweep Lotus Leg
    7)Parry and Punch
    8)Raise Hands Step Up
    9) Double Hand Sweep Lotus Leg

Fantastic videos in this thread. Including the one on Vimeo.

Can anyone help shed some light on what the second application in the video two posts above, and conclude on couddragon's breakdown?
