    Default The crane beak:

Crane involves the fingers being pressed together hard and a striking surface is formed at the base of the stylists fingertips. In this move are directed towards the most vital points of the opponent, although the fingers can still be conditioned to a high level of power.

"Single Whip" in Tai Chi , the formation of the fingers form a fingertip hand that can be used in a whipping type action to attack the eyes. Also can be used to grab acupuncture cavities.

    I love the hook-hand.

As stated, it can be used to "peck" at an opponents vital points with the finger tips. It can also be used to seize an opponents limb, the back of the hand can be used as a whipping strike. It is a very versatile hand form.

We apply it in diffrent ways , there is the strike with the back of the hand in fook sau , its also applied from bong sau as a low groin strike , from tan sau at the temple or eyes.

The truth is that the so called "Crane's Beak" is hardly seen within traditional White Crane of China! It seems more common in arts who are trying to claim a link to White Crane Boxing!

I think that is rather a misinformed statement to make - many Chinese martial arts utilise various techniques that were inspired by animals. White Crane Boxing does not have the monopoly on techniques inspired by the crane.

To claim that everyone is trying to claim connection to WCB smacks a bit of arrogance.
