Default South African Stick Fighting Competetions

This is the Nguni style stick fighting of South Africa. Some really nice stick fighting in this clip. Awesome to watch! Apparently it is beginning to die out, but there is an organization in South Africa called The Stick Fighting Company working to preserve it.

There was a show called last man standing on BBC 3. You can find some clips of it on You Tube but it's about a group of westerners travelling around competing against tribes in their own sport usually a fighting style of some kind. Heres a clip of the Ethiopian sticking fighting you might be interested in.

Oh and here's another from the first series I actually prefer this one it's a bit more realistic and they don't have to wear head protection haha

Thanks Bertie! The first video link was pretty good. I think I've seen parts of that show before with that style... but only small clips and never as much as was provided in the link you posted.

Concerning the second video which you uploaded to the thread... I can't watch it. The uploader has not made it available here in the U.S. But now that I know the series I can try to find another posted on youtube.

Yes I remember this on 'Last Man Standing'. Interesting and really tough. This my give an insight into how rough and tough martial arts training was prior to the 20th century ?
