This third video continues on from the posture of "White Crane Cool's Wings",
moving through "Brush Knee & Strike", "Step Up & Play the Lute", "Monkey
Steals Peaches", "Deflect, Parry & Punch" and finally "Like Sealed As If
Closed". This completes the first section of the Yang style Taijiquan form,
and can in fact be practiced as a short form in it's own right.

Nicely done James. I like to
Nicely done James. I like to see the differences in our forms and form names. We don't have a "Monkey Steals peaches". "Parry and Punch" starts differently but finishes the same, I expect our application of this is very similar. You have me wondering about the self defence for "Monkey Steals Peaches" would be good to see :)
Monkey Steals Peaches is a
Monkey Steals Peaches is a great move. It has, of course, the basic application that the name suggests - dropping down to strike/grab the groin.
Another that I like is a body-drop throw. The "striking" hand actually goes between the legs, the top hand grips the opponents clothes, then lift up out of the low stance, carrying the opponent, then to drop him somewhere painful!
Interesting! A yoga
Interesting! A yoga instructor once told me this Tai Chi is the work of the devil himself, it looks so beautiful but is really a wolf in a sheep's clothing lol. Mind you most people are only into the aesthetic part and haven't a clue about other aspects. Aesthetic for a six foot two clumsy guy like me is a difficult thing to deliver :)
I am very interested in these different techniques in the Yang. Do you have a list of names for the long form? I will in return list the Wudang long form.
I'll make a post in the forum

My misses and i.....
.....are glued to the videos that yourself and Clouddragon have put on here AND on your respective websites! We just can't seem to get enough of the Tai Chi you both present! Am i right in thinking that the 'Horse Riding Stance' features prominantly in BOTH the Wudang and the Yang styles James? Good vids!
'Horse Riding Stance' is one
'Horse Riding Stance' is one of the main basic stances of Chinese martial arts as a whole, including Taijiquan.
The Yang style I practice primarily uses Mountain Climbing Stance (similar to Zenkutsu Dachi in Karate), Back Stance, Horse Stance & False-leg Stance, but also includes scissor stance and single leg stances.
