Karate tips and ideas

Ben Lee discusses karate idea's

[title]

In this article i would like to offer the reader ideas and training tips on Karate. First i would like to start with the picking up of your opponents intention to attack. This is a skill not easily learned and requires time and effort to make it work for you. When you are in a class and your Sensei shouts during kihon try picking up on his intention to shout, if you do this correctly you should finish moving during the shout, not just after. This sounds like an impossible task but believe me it is very possible. I believe picking up on your opponents intentions is a vital aspect of your training in any martial arts. Another idea to play with is breathing, try to harmonise your breathing with your movement when performing a kata or even during kihon, If done correctly you will find you are more relaxed and your movement is smoother. I heard a saying from my instructor once you see ghosts but when a kata is mastered others will see your ghosts, the meaning of this is that when you perform a kata you should imagine an opponent, but when you have mastered that kata your spectators will see your imaginary opponent through your movements
